About Us

The Adoption Information Center of Illinois (AICI) serves some of the state’s most vulnerable children – those who can no longer live with their birth families because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

In operation since 1981, the AICI has been primarily funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The Center is a successful example of public and private collaboration to benefit the waiting children of Illinois by promoting the adoption of these children and recruiting adoptive and foster families.

Since 2001, the AICI has been administered by Adoptions Unlimited, Inc. and funded by DCFS.
