AICI Team Information

The AICI staff fulfill the DCFS contract obligations to operate the Adoption Listing Service (ALS), which includes listing, matching, information & referral, follow-up, and publication components.

The AICI’s Adoption Listing Specialists register children and families in the ALS database. As part of their work, the Listing Specialists suggest matches to families and to child and family caseworkers. The Communications Coordinator produces the Photolisting Book as well as the Adopt Me newsletter; prepares information and photos of children for The Chicago Sun-Times and other weekly and monthly newspaper features; and prepares copy for the web site.

The Family Resource Workers provide information, referrals, and follow-up to families that want to adopt and foster. They maintain contact with families after referring them for adoption licensing to ensure the process moves forward. Knowing that they are often a family's first point of contact with the child welfare system, the Resource Workers make every effort to ensure a family’s experience with AICI is positive and helpful. The Family Resource Workers also provide follow-up services regarding inquiries on children and on matches.

The Information Services staff manages the AICI database records, which contain details about the children and families registered with AICI and the agencies that serve those children and families. The I.S. staff regularly update our records for children, families, agencies and other resources; produce reports; and handle quality assurance duties for the organization. The I.S. staff carries out many of its duties, including maintaining the AICI website, with the help of its technology contractor, Price Consulting, Inc.
