Nationally, at age 18 about 19,000 children “age out” of the system every year without being adopted, and are left to fend for themselves. They often have no one to care about them and mentor them during their late teens and early twenties. Adoption of foster children is not always easy, but the rewards are great. Every child needs the care and guidance of a forever family. Please help us find forever families for Illinois’ waiting children.

Our Heart Gallery is the first of its kind in Illinois. To make this event a success, we really need your help.

IN-KIND DONATIONS

Venues
We are looking for Illinois venues that would like to display the Heart Gallery of Illinois photographs and would be willing to waive their facility fee. We are open to the length of time per exhibit (e.g. 4 days, 2 weeks, 1 month) and have schedule flexibility after the New Year.

Entertainment
Do you know a celebrity who would be willing to kick-off our celebration? We would love to have musicians, entertainers, and celebrities who want to promote adoption - either during the event or in the months leading up to it.

Printing Services and Postage
We need printing services and postage for opening celebration invitations (approximately 2500), event programs (approximately 1500) and informational brochures (approximately 1000). Your name will appear on all items in which you have donated the printing services for, as well as on our website.

Parking and Admission Discounts
The opening celebration for the Heart Gallery will be the weekend of November 4th, 2005 at the Children’s Museum on Navy Pier. We would like to find donors to help off-set the parking and admission costs for families interested in attending the event. Donated shuttles from other city parking structures would also be appreciated. Your name will appear in the event programs and website.

Food and Beverage Catering Services
We are looking for donated hors d’oeuvres and beverages at the main Gallery event scheduled during November. We also would appreciate donated boxed lunches for the children during photo shoots. Your name will appear in the event programs and website.

Photography Lab Services
We need labs to donate printing services. We expect to have 50, 16x20 portraits for the main gallery exhibit and 50, 16x20 portraits for duplicate gallery exhibits. We would also like to present each child featured in the gallery with a 8x10 portrait. Mounting and display hardware would also be appreciated. Your name will appear in the event programs and website.

Floral Arrangements and/or Balloon Bouquets
Floral and/or balloon bouquets are needed to adorn the venue for the main Gallery event. Your name will appear in the event programs and website.

Transportation and Storage of Portraits
We need a transportation company that would be willing to transport portraits from one gallery exhibit to the next. We would also like to find a company to donate storage space for the portraits between gallery exhibits.

Volunteers
We are always looking for people who are willing to donate their valuable time and talents to make our mission a success. Your name will appear in the event programs and website.
