"Fostering a Future" College Scholarships Available

Posted: 3/5/2010

Children's Action Network has partnered with the Dave Thomas Foundation to create a national scholarship program benefiting youth who were adopted from foster care.

"Fostering a Future" is sponsored by Capital One and was designed to help children pursue their educational goals. The fund will also provide educational assistance to parents who are considering adopting an older child, alleviating some of the concerns they may have regarding their financial obligations as adoptive parents.

Applicants for "Fostering a Future" scholarships must:

  • have been adopted from the U.S. foster care system after the age of thirteen.
  • be graduating high school seniors.
  • maintain or improve upon a qualifying grade point average during their senior year.
  • demonstrate financial need.
"Fostering a Future" applications will be accepted through April 20, 2010. To download an application, visit the Children's Action Network website. If you have questions regarding the process, please call (800) 525-6789 or send an e-mail to caninformation@aol.com.
