When to Reactivate
When a child has received a large number of inquiries or been placed in a pre-adoptive home, that child's listing will be placed on hold. This means AICI will no longer look to recruit an adoptive family for the child. In the event a child needs an adoptive resource after being placed on hold, the worker will need to contact AICI to reactivate the listing. If the child's listing is more than 10 months old, you will need to submit the following:
- a new Listing Eligibility ALS-1a form
to ensure child is still appropriate for ALS. - a new, completed Child Registration ALS-1 form.

- guardian consent, unless previously submitted.
- a photo for children with termination of parental rights (TPR). If the photo was taken by a professional photographer, then you may need to complete an ALS-6 form.

- a signed CFS-600-3 form
for children 12 years of age and older, unless previously submitted.
See Adoption Listing Steps for detailed instructions on completing these forms. If you have additional questions about reactivating a child's listing, please call the AICI Recruitment Coordinator at 312-462-7242.
